BIO
Havana, 1996. She completed the Master’s in Photography, Theory and Artistic Projects at PHotoESPAÑA (Madrid, 2021) and the Marina Abramović Institute’s Cleaning the House workshop (Greece, 2023). She lives and works in Madrid.
Her practice moves fluidly between photography, installation, video art, and performance. The sea is not merely a setting, but a living body, a witness, and a refuge. Born on an island and shaped by Afro-Cuban spirituality, her work establishes a dialogue between the ancestral and the contemporary, where the memory of water converges with that of the body. Motherhood, lineage, and protection are recurring symbols in her practice; using her body as territory, she explores femininity, while her work also resonates with a call for ecological awareness.
Her solo exhibitions include Ofrendas a los cuerpos acuosos (Solo Contemporary × Castanedo, Cantabria, 2025) and Filha do Mar (Galería Belard, Lisbon, 2024). Her performances include Daughter (Tel Aviv, 2023), Rezos, Rituales y Altares (Museu da História e da Cultura Afro-Brasileira, Rio de Janeiro, 2023), and Volver a nacer at the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza (Madrid, 2023). She received the IV Fundación ENAIRE Young Photography Award (2021) and the Kells Collection Acquisition Award at Arte Santander (2024). She was a finalist for the XII Pilar Citoler International Biennial Award for Contemporary Photography (2023) and the Arte Laguna Prize for Video Art (Venice, 2020).
