Abraham Alonso
BIO
1993. Trained in Fine Arts at the University of Vigo. Lives and works in Madrid.
His practice spans sculpture, painting, and installation. He draws on the images and objects that shaped his childhood—cartoons, toys, trading cards, domestic objects, and fragments of popular culture—and brings them back into the physical world, often using discarded materials, to question how we remember, preserve, and consume images today. He is particularly interested in the generation that grew up between the analogue and digital worlds, and in the intersection of nostalgia, desire, and capitalism.
He has presented his work at VARCO (Auditorio Mar de Vigo, 2024) and in Que morra o conto (Galería Modus Operandi, Madrid, 2023). In 2023, he received First Prize in Visual Arts at the Xuventude Crea Awards; in 2021, he was awarded First Prize in Photography at the University of Vigo Artistic Creation Awards.
