Rocío Asensi
A multidisciplinary artist whose work moves between the sensorial and the conceptual, the analog and the technological, between aesthetics and commitment.

BIO
Rocío Asensi is a multidisciplinary visual artist based in Madrid. She holds a Fine Arts degree from the Complutense University of Madrid, specializing in Printmaking and Audiovisuals, and has expanded her training with studies in interdisciplinary art, installation, and stage lighting.
Her artistic practice lies at the intersection of art, space, and sensory experience, with a poetic and critical approach to themes such as transformation, memory, identity, and the spiritual dimension of the body and its surroundings. She works with installation, sculpture, video, and site-specific projects, using materials like resin, iron, ceramics, textiles, and light—transformed into symbolic structures that invite contemplation and active viewer engagement.
She has developed projects in leading institutions in Spain and internationally. Highlights include Solar Landscape, a light-based intervention for the Council of the European Union in Brussels during Spain’s 2023 Presidency; Dayira, a collaborative piece at the Tangier train station as part of the Espacios Ocupados program by the Instituto Cervantes; Renaissance, at Edificio de los Cubos (Madrid); and Venus and the Feathered Serpent, at Casa de México in Madrid. Her work has also been exhibited at the Museo de la Luz (CDMX), Claustro de Sor Juana (CDMX), the Provincial Museum of Art in Huelva, and the Fernán Gómez Cultural Center during Madrid Design Festival.
Rocío Asensi has received the Artistic Creation Award from the Community of Madrid and has been selected for institutional calls by Acción Cultural Española (AC/E), AECID, and the International Festival of Lights (FILUX). She has also collaborated with brands such as KIA and Sony on light installation projects.

“For me, art is a way of being in the world from a different place. That’s why I seek to create spaces that encourage pause, presence, listening, and connection—with oneself and with others.”
