(ツ) Sign&Smile

Workshop designed for artists and art professionals who want to understand how agreements work, how rights are managed, and how to avoid legal risks within the sector.

What will you cover in the workshop?
Ownership and rights over your work

Understand what rights you have as an artist, when you retain them, and in which situations you may lose them without realising it.

Contracts in the art world

Learn how to read, understand, and negotiate agreements with galleries, clients or institutions without requiring legal training.

Professional relationships

Learn how to structure collaborations, commissions, and projects to avoid misunderstandings, conflicts or non-payment.

Logistics and risk management

Understand what happens when an artwork is transported, sold or exhibited, and who assumes responsibility in each case.

Preventing conflicts

Anticipate common legal issues in the sector and learn how to manage them before they escalate.

Methodology

The workshop is based on the analysis of real cases and common situations within the art sector, allowing participants to understand how these scenarios arise and how to manage them professionally.

We will work on examples such as:

— commissions without a contract
— use of artworks without defined rights
— transport or logistics issues
— poorly defined agreements with galleries or clients”
