Marta Adalid
BIO
Madrid, 1994. She graduated in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid and furthered her studies at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence through the Erasmus programme, and at the Barcelona Academy of Art. She lives and works in Madrid.
Her painting practice explores the relationship between the body and the natural environment. Drawing on sensation, memory, and embodied experience, her paintings unfold within an intermediate space where forms remain open and in constant transformation. Organic and vegetal elements frequently emerge, dissolving the boundaries between skin, landscape, and matter, and suggesting a continuity between human and non-human forms. Working through an intuitive, process-led approach, she constructs ambiguous visual languages that move between emergence and dissolution, inviting a sensory rather than narrative experience. She currently develops her practice in Madrid as an artist-in-residence at LEA – Laboratorio de Arte Experimental.
Her work has been presented in various exhibitions, including the solo exhibition Niku no Hana (Flower of Flesh) in Tokyo (2026), developed with Katsuya Susuki Gallery and LEA, with the support of the Embassy of Spain in Japan. She was awarded an INJUVE grant (2024–2025) for the project Habitar el cuerpo colectivo, presented at Sala Amadís as part of Dulzuras indómitas (2025).
